New Kats on the Block
I tawt I taw a puddy tat.
I did! I did! I did tee a puddy tat!
Another fun and quick knit from Fiber Trends. Here Kitty Kitty, Pattern No. 219X, made out of Lett-Lopi. Mods: no fun fur because I wanted to see how it was shaped.
I found this pattern to be a little more confusing than the other one I did. When the body was finished, I had absolutely no idea how that mis-shapen piece of knitting was going to turn into anything, let alone a kitty. At one point, the pattern references the cast-on edges, and I couldn't even identify those without a lot of puzzling. I attached the legs where I thought they went and still had no idea. It wasn't until the head went on that I could envision how it all came together. Note: If you do this pattern, when it says to attach markers, use different colours, and write down which colour went where.
I couldn't find any cat eyes in the craft stores this weekend, just googley eyes, so at this point he's still kind of blind.
And because he has no eyes, he also has no guts.
But he does have attitude!
And what does Tidget think of this?
"Do you expect me to share my litter box?"
Actually, MissT, yes, I do expect you to share your litter box, because you also have a new step-brother!
This is Muushuu, a seven-year-old male long-hair Siamese, who is now living with me because his previous owners' son has developed allergies. He's cuddly, smart and extremely soft. Tidget and Muushuu are presently still in negotiations over who has priority seating on my lap.
40 people had something to say:
is the gut going to be filled with catnip?
too cute! all of them.
:-)
Aw, kitties! Cuteness in the extreme! All three.
OOOOOOOOOoohhhhhhhhh!
Long-haired MEEZER!!! The Meezer is intrigued, I'll tell you, positively preening...
(Sorry Tidget, you're gorgeous, too!)
And I love felted kitty. MUST go get that pattern...
What a great family you have!
(((hugs)))
Cute felting job. Don't worry on the eyes - kittens are blind for the first couple of weeks, aren't they?
All of the kitties are beautiful. What a nice feline family. I look forward to seeing the handknit kitty when it is finished.
Welcome, Muushuu! What a lovely addition to your feline family. And the felted kitty is mighty cute -- if slightly disturbing, eyeless and gutless.
What a handsome puss he is! My dogs are getting very jealous.
Your new born is adorable too. It sounds as if he was designed by EZ. She did love to puzzle a knitter and surprise them in the end.
Your kitties are so adorable. I wish I could have one, but, like the previous owner, my husband has allergies. Now I have a fluffy dog. Wuff.
puuurrrrfect!
fiber trends patterns always blow my mind!!!! I love it!
Love the felted kitty. Maybe embrodered eyes or buttons> The other kittys are pretty nice too. My cat would not share my lap. Not. Ever.
Gorgeous. When I was a kid, I brought home a stray kitten. My mum said we couldn't keep it because my dad had allergies. "That's OK," I said, "He can sleep in the basement." To this day my dad contends I meant that HE could sleep in the basement, not the cat. We didn't keep it and I have grown up to also inherit the allergies! :(
Your "newborn" is adorable! But oh my gosh -- Muushuu! -- absolutely gorgeous! Miss T is sweet, too, but Siamese breeds have a special place in my heart. My first cat ever was Siamese.
Great trio of cats! Congratulations on the new member of the family!
What an adorable knit. Even without eyes. It takes a few days for a newborn's eyes to open. don't worry. Beautiful non-knit kitties too! Don't expect the negotiations to end any time soon. My 2 cats have been "discussing" it for 15 years!
Who need guts if they got attitude? Very cute. That squirrel is adorable too!
Pretty kitties. Tidget has lovely eyes.
Forgive me for thinking of thanksgiving turkey when seeing the hollowed kitty :)
Your Kitties are beautiful, eventually they'll tolerate each others presence :D
Love the not so stuffed kittie as well, very cool.
Tidget is certainly no slouch in the looks department, but MuuShuu is really beautiful!! (love the stuffed cat!!)
You could always embroider the eyes on. I like that look on stuffed toys.
What beautiful kitties! MuuShuu is an adorable name. Are they getting along? That can be tricky.
congrats on the beauti-mous addition to your home. (Muushuu) He's amazing. Eventually Tidget and he will find their connection.
And the kitty toy is adorable
What beautiful cats!! All 3 of them. I love your knitting! Great job!
Your trio of cats are beautiful!
Aw, Muushuu is a cutie pie! Tidget does not look thrilled at his expanding family. Hopefully they'll co exist peacefully.
The puddy tat is purty!
All three lovely. The knittedkitty did come out great. Love your noro sweater as well.
Tidget & Muushuu are both real lookers.
A friend told me about your site because of your garterlac dishrag. When I saw it, my first thought was, "Yeah, I want to knit that!" and my second was that it would be the absolute least threatening introduction to entrelac possible. May we use it at our guild for a low stress entrelac program?
Thanks, Gail, and yes, you can certainly use the Garterlac for a guild program.
congratulations on your new family member!! your cats, alived and knitted, are adorable!
Great cats - especially the one without guts :)
I made a Mr. Bean teddy bear and totally gave up at the sewing part - big kudos to you for giving Kitty a proper shape!!
So dear!
Good luck! Tidget looks a mite crabby. My kid is swooning over Muushuu, he's so beautiful. Hope they work it out soon! Your knitted kitty - too cute.
That pic of Tiget is just priceless. Beautiful new cat, I've heard Siamese cats are very loving and loyal. Welcome to the family Muushuu!
Hi Dave! You've been tagged! Go to http://phknit.blogspot.com to see what it's all about! Happy knitting!
Paula
That is the cutest knitted kitten ever! My 8-yr-old is going crazy over it. She said, "He should just knit a Mommy for it, and leave the eyes off." I agree. SOOO cute!
Poor gutless creature. He is cute, though. So are the others, good luck with the new gang!
i guess you could always needle felt some cat eyes. i'm glad the biggest negotiation is about your lap... i've heard horror stories about introducing new pets into the same household.
also? love the Noro sweater and color you used. When do we get to see it seamed up and on?
OMG I am in love with ALL the kitties!! That felted kitty is SO cute, eye-less and gutless included! But the new kitty is so adorable!! Somebody for Tidget to play with once they work out who goes pee first......
They are such sweeties!! Give them a hug or two for me. :)
That was me. You know, the one with the hugs.
